Admissions
YCAT is the admission authority for the schools within the Trust and as such is responsible for setting fair, clear and objective arrangements and criteria for each constituent school. In doing so the trust has complied with the School Admission Code (December 2014) Equality Act 2010, Human Rights Act 1998 and the Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998. The arrangements and criteria used to allocate places for each school are set out in our Admissions Policy.
While YCAT is the admission authority for all YCAT schools, North Yorkshire Council will provide the Common Application Form for families making applications and will also notify families of allocated places on National Offer Day. Full details of the application process can be found on the local authority’s website at www.northyorks.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
Consultation
The School Admissions Code stipulates that admission authorities consult on admissions arrangements at least every seven years. YCAT is currently consulting with staff, pupils, Governors, Trustees and the local authority to meet this requirement; no changes to the admissions arrangements are being proposed at this time.
The consultation will run from 15th November 2024 to 17th January 2025.
