Primary Curriculum Quality Mark
Establishing a coherent, connected, and effective curriculum across all areas is challenging for all schools and requires a huge commitment from all members of the school team. We believe primary schools would now benefit from more personalised curriculum support, which is why we have developed a new collaborative programme: “Primary Curriculum Quality Mark “The PCQM will begin in September 2024 and schools will be able to choose their accreditation date from March 2025. The programme will include an introductory session in September, and three recorded online training sessions at key stages during the programme. The importance of making curriculum connections is at the heart of PCQM; the programme will begin with guidance on establishing your curriculum vision, values and ethos. The programme will be in three main stages starting in early years and will provide guidance to schools on building a precise and embedded connected curriculum. PCQM will provide a portal for participants to access the programme’s CPD, videos, key documents and the PCQM final self-evaluation assessment audit materials. The theme will be making connections; building essential foundations from early years and there will be five self-evaluation documentation documents that will form schools’ main evidence for the PCQM award. This award will enable schools to celebrate the commendable quality of their school’s ambitious curriculum that is well connected and ensures pupils consistently remember and develop fluency in the intended curriculum for all subjects and age groups and personal development. The PCQM will also identify areas for further improvement. The quality mark will provide external validation of your strong primary curriculum, and, on accreditation, you will receive the PCQM Quality Mark logo that can be displayed on your school’s documentation and website. The accreditation will last for two years before renewal. What will the “Primary Curriculum Quality Mark” provide and how will it work for participant schools? An online portal for participating schools will provide a wide range of programme support including CPD, videos and leadership materials to support the development of a strong and coherent curriculum. The programme will be in three stages:
