Trustee Profiles

 

Ian Moore

Ian Moore is an architect working as a partner in a private practice, specialising in the field of education and health for the last 28 years. He has served as a governor at a local Primary School for 16 years and for the last five years as Chair of Governors. He is married with four children all of whom attended local primary and secondary schools.

   

Roger Gook Vice Chair

Roger spent the first part of his professional life teaching in primary schools in Warwick and Cornwall. After a year travelling and teaching English in South America, he settled in Yorkshire to set up a specialist travel company in Sheffield. He moved to Ilkley twenty years ago and founded another successful travel company, which he ran until retiring two years ago.

Roger became a governor at Askwith Primary school in 2002 and the chair in 2010. He has been involved in developing the Harrogate and Rural Teaching Alliance and the Yorkshire Collaborative Academies Trust.
During his spare time, Roger pursues his interest  and involvement in environmental issues, cinema  and walking at home and abroad.

I am an experienced headteacher who is committed to leading teaching and learning through self-improving collaborative practice. In recent years I have led the development of a teaching school and supported schools facing difficult circumstances.

I am a National Leader in Education.


 

Jo Robinson

I am an outstanding headteacher who is committed to collaborative working. My focus is developing joint practice development across schools to strengthen leadership and I have acted as an executive headteacher for schools facing difficult circumstances.

In 2015 I became a National Leader in Education.

 

Jenny Baynes

Jenny has a keen interest in supporting the development of school improvement both as a mum and education professional. She has worked across the education sector for over 20 years both at local and national level with a lead in areas of Technology to support performance and school improvement. Jenny is qualified to masters level in education and school leadership, she currently leads the NHS change and transformation function to support delivering growth and effective service delivery.


 

 Emma Nicholson

Emma is a Chartered Senior Project Manager and Chartered Environmentalist with over 20 years' experience in the Built Environment as well as strategic management experience at Board level. She is passionate about achieving quality projects and in 2018 Emma was nominated for an Excellent Award in quality of project delivery for the Leeds Art Gallery and Leeds Library roof restoration. 

Emma has experience in both the private and public sector including in primary schools where she has been a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) Ambassador; promoting these subjects to students. Emma has been a Trustee Member of North Yorkshire Sport for 3 years as well as Founder of Women in Sustainable Construction and Property.  Emma is an Ambassador for Women on Boards.
